Vaccine now available for anyone 12 years and older

Subject: Vaccine now available for anyone 12 years and older

This message is to notify everyone in the intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) service system that anyone 12 and older is eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in Oregon.

Case management entities and providers that support youth with I/DD in that age range should reach out and connect them with vaccine opportunities in their local area. People that support individuals with I/DD, including family members, trusted friends and providers, should have a conversation with the person about COVID-19 vaccination to support them to make a decision.

The Oregon Health Authority vaccine toolkit has resources, including vaccine locations, 211 info, vaccine facts and much more. There is also a minor consent statement, which states that under Oregon law, minors, 15 and older, may give consent to medical treatment without the consent of a parent or guardian. The Oregon Health Authority also has resources and information on its website under toolkits for parents and people under 18, including a Frequently Asked Questions document.
