Claire Athens is a high school student in Portland, OR. She loves all animals, great and small. In addition to having house pets over the years, she has done extensive volunteer work at various animal shelters in Portland. She has groomed and socialized cats at Animal Aid and walked dogs at Pixie Project and Family Dogs New Life Shelter. Claire has been drawing animals for years and enjoys drawing animals more than people. She says making a drawing of a human is hard. She also loves the fact that there are so many varieties of animals on Earth. This gives her a lot of material to practice her skills.
