Camp for children ages 8-17 years old with a disability & their family dog

FYI – though this camp is the same week as ours, so….


My name is Chloe Simpson and I am a graduate student at Oregon State University (OSU). The Children and Youth with Disabilities Lab and Human-Animal Interaction Lab at OSU are collaborating to conduct a research study, in the form of a camp. This camp is for children ages 8-17 years old with a disability and their family dog and will be held in Corvallis at OSU’s Oldfield Animal Teaching Facility August 20th through 31st, 2018.  The summer camp program focuses on physical activity and social wellbeing. Interested participants or families can contact Megan MacDonald at Oregon State University at or at 541-737-3273.  


To summarize:

What: Summer Camp, Do As I Do, for children ages 8-17 years old with a developmental disability and their family dog.

When: Camp will be held August 20-31, 2018 in 1-hour sessions on weekdays. There will be three, 45-minute assessments that will take place in the study. The first will be the week before camp (Aug 13-17), one the week after camp (Sept 3-7), and one a year from camp, next summer.
