Support groups, Winter Term STiLE classes, Art Guild Meetings and the Art Fest, Second Friday Socials – all our gatherings –  are cancelled for now or postponed. We are taking registrations for our August 20-23 Camp in the hope the crisis will pass by August.. More info and updates here.

To Support Artist’s Creativity and Marketing

We are now scheduling a series of meetings Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00 pm, to meet with artists and develop feedback to help us support their creativity and careers as artists. The meetings will continue monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at the LILA Peer Support Club at 10th and Oak, 990 Oak St, Eugene. Pizza will be provided!!!

February meeting is February 5th!

We are also planning our second Festival of Art for All event next spring. This event will feature paintings and photos, jewelry sales, music, and performance art, including performers from our STiLE  Improv class. Your input on this event will be valued.

Social Skills Class and scheduled Social Outings @ St Mary's Episcopal Church

ASO sponsored Social Skills Class for Adults from 6:30-8pm at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 1300 Pearl St. (SW corner of 13th & Pearl).The Lane County Chapter of the Autism Society of Oregon supports a Social Skills Class and Scheduled Social Outings on alternating months, in response to interest by participants in KindTree – Autism Rocks’ Support Group for adults on the autism spectrum. The classes and outings are designed for adults with high-functioning autism or Aspergers who can get around independently in the community.

During the Social Skills Class, conversation skills will be taught, role-modeled and practiced. The class is taught by Doris Germain, an Autism Specialist in the Linn-Benton School District. She has taught social skills at Autism Training and Support in Eugene. Her skill in teaching social skills has been learned from 20 years of working with people on the spectrum. No support groups or social skills activities in August.

The Social Skills Class is taking place on the 3rd Monday of alternating months from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church on 13th and Pearl in Eugene. The Social Skills Class will decide on the activity for the following month’s Social Outing.

The Social Outing is taking place on alternating months on the third Friday evening of the month from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. or during the day on Saturday, depending on the activity chosen by the previous month’s Social Skills Class.
