Autism’s Rockin’ Day Camp 2021

Camp is cancelled…Covid has us stopped in our tracks. So sorry, everybody. 😭

Read the cancellation message from President Michael Omogrosso HERE.

On the same August weekend as our now cancelled Friends & Family Camp we will all gather at the Jasper Park Recreation Site from 11am-7:00pm Sunday August 29 to enjoy the sunshine with each other, new crafts, our beloved talent show, Karaoke with Frankie, Improv with Brian, fun, great food, new t-shirt colors, and some surprises, too.

Masks MUST BE WORN by all our volunteers and guests, except when eating or singing or when away from others not in your personal group. We will all do our very best to avoid breathing in other’s faces. We will have masks for you if you do not have your own. Safety protocols that would be difficult to manage at Baker Camp will be controlled effectively in the smaller, all outdoor space we have secured.

Hugs will be discouraged, but smiles will be welcome!

Registration closes on August 20th

Those who have already paid the Friends & Family Camp fees will receive a full refund for your camping and cabin fees. That should help all be able to pay the $20 per-person we must charge for this daylong event. Those who qualified for a scholarship can choose to use it for this event, or hang onto it to use in 2022. And if you were unable to register for the now cancelled weekend camp, this is a new chance to experience the KindTree Community for this one day. A new registration form is below for you to fill out and receive a receipt. Directions, what to bring and a list of activities (see below) will also be sent  before the event. KindTree will pay for admission to the site (it’s normally $5 per car). Stop at the entry kiosk and tell them you’re there for KindTree.

We truly regret having to cancel our annual Friends & Family Camp. Our hopes were so high that we could again gather in the woods, among the trees and the deer, to see old and new friends, and play together. But we refuse to give up altogether and are determined to provide all who can attend a safe, memorable, and important experience celebrating who you are and who we all are together.

Please keep your eye out for our emails for updates. We all so look forward to being with you. Thank you.

AUTISM ROCKS!

This event is supported by the Autism Society Of Oregon – THANK YOU!

More Information About the Jasper Park Recreation Site

Jasper State Recreation Site is a beautiful riverside park that is very popular for weddings, reunions, and large family picnics. Ball fields, a playground, river access and riverside trails provide for plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. The upstream end of the park (where our sites are) provides walking trails through a grand riparian forest, with the rush of the river a constant companion. Angling is popular in this stretch of river, and there is easy access for wading in the Willamette River. BUT NO SWIMMING PLEASE.
KindTree has reserved 3 adjacent day use areas, with plenty of room for our community, sinks, picnic tables, shade trees and flush restrooms nearby.
