NERI AVRAHAM STATEMENT January 2012
I usually begin a new painting with a random brush strokes of colors, then working responding to the rhythm of the music and the direction the paintings leads me.
exploring with a variety of methods of applying acrylic color on raw canvas and looking for new combinations that I never done before.
What my interest is…” to play with the colors and see what would happen if ….“.
I like Art , it is a way for me to share how I Feel.
At other times it appears that the painting already knows what it wants and I listen, watch …
One of my teachers once said to me “ your brushes are very smart , why don’t you let them do the work?”
For me painting is allowing me to become more comfortable with uncertainty and unpredictability;
Painting spontaneously has been beneficial; It encourages my mind to be quit and it helps me to have no concern for the approval of others .
At younger age I used watercolors; The changing light of day the moods it creates were the foundations of my watercolors, with a primary subjects places in Israel
Painting with acrylics, it is very different; My paintings usually start with a color idea, then evolve into compositions in which color is the primary subject .
To me, art is a way to share my personal feelings, the subject and the colors that I like
I take pride in my art and I am always interested in learning and exploring new mediums.
my son's name is Neri Avraham
