Public Advocacy Opportunities:

Department of Education Budget Presentations The Ways and Means Subcommittee on Education has been working on the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) Budget Bills (SB 5516 and SB 5517) for the past few weeks.  Public Testimony Days are scheduled as follows:

March 16th: Public Testimony Day for K-12 Grant-in-Aid Budget & State School Fund


Department of Human Services Budget Presentations


On Tuesday, March 14th, the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Services will focus their attention on the Department of Human Services

(DHS) Budget (SB 5526), and that work will continue for the next month or so.  DHS will begin with a "DHS Agency Overview" followed by presentations from each major program within DHS.  The following is a tentative schedule of the budget presentations for the next few weeks:


March 15-16:  Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) March 21-22:  Office of Developmental Disabilities Services (ODDS) March 27:  Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (OVRS) March 28: Public Testimony Day for APD, ODDS and OVRS -SAVE THIS DATE and please plan to join us at the Capitol to testify about the importance of DD Services and to request continuation of current service funding levels.
